Healthy Complexion

A healthy complexion is the basis of attractiveness for women. So, how does one achieve this? First, it is important to remember that there are varying ethnic characteristics and a range of skin tones. Today we will pay attention to the Caucasian type, with skin tones from porcelain and pink-beige to light bronze.

An “unhealthy” complexion has colour deviations from the natural skin tone. There are root causes such as various diseases that can lead to such deviations: sallow, cyanotic, yellowish, reddish, greenish facial tones. These causes can be uncovered by an experienced doctor. However, illness is not the only cause for unhealthy complexion. Today we will discuss the most common factors that are looked past but lead to an unhealthy complexion. Lifestyle habits have a crucial role in maintaining a healthy and beautiful complexion

If you are physically healthy, the most likely cause of an “unhealthy” complexion is lifestyle choices and habits such as continuous stress, lack of sleep, unhealthy diet. An extremely prevalent example of this is smoking and alcohol which both adversely affect overall health and appearance. When smoking, the skin of the face noticeably tarnishes and acquires a grayish tint, and vascular nets (couperose), including appearance of dark circles under the eyes. This happens due to a simple process: lack of oxygen in the blood, decreased blood circulation, decreased elasticity of blood vessels, increased oxidative processes, and the accumulation of free radicals. This all leads to premature aging of the skin.

Another common lifestyle choice negatively affecting complexion is alcohol. Alcohol consumption leads to a bluish-gray complexion, the appearance of red vascular stars, and often a “feverish” red face. More than that, it causes wrinkles, edemas and bags under the eyes to develop. All this leads to the so-called “loss of clarity of the face.” As the face “spreads,” the skin sags, losing elasticity and a clear contour. Before making these choices, think about whether its worth losing those crucial features of your facial beauty.

It is believed that drinking coffee (or caffeinated beverages) also adversely affects the complexion. However, if you use coffee or tea in moderation, they have a beneficial effect on the cardiovascular system and contribute to the expansion of blood vessels, which in turn provides a healthy complexion. Many home skin remedies use ground coffee as a facial and body scrub to give the skin a fresh, youthful and resilient look.

So how do you return to a healthy lifestyle and healthy complexion? You need to practice good habits everyday: physical activity, healthy nutrition, rest and sleep, positive emotions, a purpose in life and enthusiasm! No bad habits! No stress! Stay active and healthy through to old age.

Everything is in your hands, and we, beauty consultants, can only advise you to choose the best style and means to look healthier and more attractive!
